To organize and standardize the setup of ratings tables, skills, categories, and display names, you can create and fill out three worksheets before you enter skills information in the version 6 or version 7 database.
  • Creating a Ratings Table Worksheet
    To design the ratings table worksheet, include the Ratings Table Name and Table Entries columns. Divide the Table Entries column into the Table Entry and Short Description columns.

    The short description appears in Grades and Faculty Access for the Web. It also appears on reports and report cards. You can select to print a legend on report cards to display each table entry and its corresponding short description.  

    In version 6 -- you can define each ratings table name with a maximum of 30 alphanumeric characters. You can define each table entry with a maximum of 50 alphanumeric characters and each short description with a maximum of 5 alphanumeric characters.  

    In version 7 -- you can define each ratings table name with a maximum of 30 alphanumeric characters. You can define each table entry with a maximum of 60 alphanumeric characters and each short description with a maximum of 6 alphanumeric characters.  

  • Creating a Skills Worksheet for Skills without Category Associations
    You can define skills without category associations because they pertain to many courses or you want to print the skills without display names on standard and comment report cards. You must associate each skill with a ratings table.

    To design the worksheet for skills without category associations, include the Skill, Ratings Table, and Course Records on which to select this Skill columns.

    In version 6 -- You can define each skill with a maximum of 250 alphanumeric characters.  

    In version 7 -- You can define each skill with a maximum of 255 alphanumeric characters.  

  • Creating a Category/Skill Worksheet
    To design the category/skill worksheet, include the Category, Skills to Associate with Category, Display Name, Ratings Table, and Course Records on which to select this Category columns. You must associate each skill in a category with a display name and a ratings table.

    In version 6 -- You can define each category and display name with a maximum of 50 alphanumeric characters. You can define each skill with a maximum of 250 alphanumeric characters.  

    In version 7 -- You can define each category and display name with a maximum of 60 alphanumeric characters. You can define each skill with a maximum of 255 alphanumeric characters.
