City and street names are incorrectly capitalized

City names are incorrectly capitalized
Download and install the latest patch, which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch. 

Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database (BB52243). If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup solution.

 

To correct the capitalization on cities:

 

  1. Create a constituent query (BB19082)
     
  2. On the Criteria tab, select Addresses > All Addresses > City equals [the incorrect city]
     
  3. Globally change the City field using the query created in step 1. Follow the instructions in How to globally add, replace, partially replace, or delete the city (BB114968):
    • On the Edit Change Parameters screen, select Replace as the operation
       
    • Enter the incorrect city name in the Replace field and the correct city name in the With field
       
    • Mark the Match case checkbox
       
    • Select all other appropriate options and click Change Now
       


     
     

    To correct the capitalization on streets:

     
       
      • Create a constituent query (BB19082)
         
      • On the Criteria tab, select Addresses > All Addresses > Address Lines contains [the incorrect street]
         
      • Globally replace part of the Address Lines field. Follow the instructions in How to globally add, replace, partially replace, or delete an address line (BB214298):
        1. On the Edit Change Parameters screen, select Partial Replace as the operation
           
        2. Enter the incorrect street name in the Replace field and the correct street name in the With field
           
        3. Mark the Match case checkbox
           
        4. Select all other appropriate options and click Change Now
           
         

        To prevent the issue from occurring in the future:

         

        Download and run the Define Patronymic Prefix Excludes plug-in (BB297854)
