When a user opens a record that is in use by a Gift batch (being worked by another user), users may receive a 'This record is currently opened by user [User Name] on machine [Machine Name]. You will not be able to save changes.' error message. The error may also appear when entering gifts and/or committing a batch.
Try each of the following steps in order to resolve this issue:
  1. Have the other user close the record that is also included in the Gift batch being used
  2. If a record has been opened and not closed, be sure to close it
  3. If your organization has VBA, the issue may be with the VBA code.
