Note: Incorrect changes to registry settings can cause serious system problems that may be irreversible without reinstallation of the operating system. Try each of the following steps in order until the error is resolved:

  1. If running SQL Server Enterprise or Standard Editions is running in Windows Only authentication mode, verify the users have the appropriate permissions
  2. Verify no spaces exist in the user name:
    1. From Administration, click Setup system security
    2. Open the user name in question and remove any spaces
    3. Save and close the user name
    4. Login as that user again
  3. Manually update/repair the workstation
  4. Reset the Registry settings (Accounting for Nonprofits and the Financial Edge only):
    1. Open the Registry
    2. Browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\AFNINI_1
    3. Right-click the General key and rename it to oldAFNINI_1
    4. Exit the registry
    5. Reboot the workstation and log in again
  5. Uninstall and reinstall the software on the workstation
  6. Detach\Re-attach database from the Blackbaud Management Console
  7. Test for for General Network errors using Microsoft Solution 325487
