The following depreciation transaction types are available for recording historical depreciation of an asset, providing different levels of detail:

    • Annual Depreciation: Tracks a separate depreciation transaction for each depreciation year prior to the current depreciation year.

    • Accumulated Depreciation: Tracks a single depreciation transaction prior to the current depreciation year. All previous years are grouped together.
Note: You cannot add an accumulated depreciation transaction if period depreciation exists.

    • Year-to-Date Depreciation: Tracks a single depreciation transaction for the current depreciation year prior to the current period.

    • Period Depreciation: A single transaction used for each depreciation period in an asset's life (as long as valid periods exist in Configuration). Using period depreciation provides the most available detail.
