Error: Error saving: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server] Could not allocate space for object constituent attributes in database 'db_2' because the 'index' file group is full. Native Error: 1105 - when saving a record

Users may receive the error: Error writing static records: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft] [ODBC SQL Server Driver] [SQL Server][SQL Server] Could not allocate space for object static_recs_4198 in database db_2 because the primary file group is full. Native Error 1105 when saving a record, trying to run reports, globally adding records, after installing The Raiser's Edge or if the database files are too large for the Express version of SQL Server or if the database location or hard disk drive is running out of space.
Note: Don't delete any files if you are unsure are safe to delete. If unsure, ask your system administrator. Blackbaud cannot determine what files, outside of our software, will be safe to remove.

Try each of the following steps in order until the error is resolved:
  1. Delete temporary files and empty Recycle Bin in Windows
  2. Check the available disk space on the server. Refer to the system requirements to determine the required amount of free disk space needed.
  3. Reboot the workstation
  4. Shrink the database in the Blackbaud Management Console on the server.
  5. Contact your system administrator for assistance in freeing up additional disk space
If using an Express version of SQL Server with a database size limit of 10 GBs, then move to the SQL Server Standard or Enterprise edition. While in the process of doing this, you may be able to continue to work with the Express version of SQL Server by shrinking the database in the Blackbaud Management Console.
