To process transactions from Blackbaud NetCommunity within The Raiser's Edge, the NetCommunity plug-in must first be installed.  The username for The Raiser's Edge must also have access to the NetCommunity plug-in to process transactions.

  1. Log into The Raiser's Edge using an account that has access to the NetCommunity plug-in on a workstation where the NetCommunity plug-in has been installed.
  2. Click the NetCommunity button within the main navigation menu to load the NetCommunity plug-in page within The Raiser's Edge.
  3. Click Sign-up Requests
  4. After the Sign-up Requests Transactions window loads, the sign-up transactions will appear in the left-hand column, separated by rows.  Each row represents a different sign-up transaction.  Click anywhere within the Sign-up Information column for each row to load the details for the transaction.
  5. Click within the Linked Constituent text field and either press F7 on the keyboard or click the Find Constituent button to search for an existing constituent.
  6. The search results will be filtered based on the checkboxes that have been enabled for the search within the Biographical and Preferred Address tabs.  Click those tabs and mark or unmark the checkboxes within the Search Field column to use the appropriate fields for the search.
  7. Once the search parameters have been defined, click the Find Now button to search for an existing constituent.
If the constituent record for the individual displays within the search result found in in the previous steps:
  1. Double-click the constituent Name within the search results
  2. Click Link Constituent to link the sign-up transaction to the constituent record or click Open Constituent to verify that the proper constituent record has been selected.
  3. After clicking Link Constituent, verify which information should be updated in The Raiser's Edge based on the data within the sign-up request within the Profile Information tab.  The data within the New Value column represents the data that is associated with the sign-up request.  The data within the Raiser's Edge Value column represents the data for the constituent as it appears within the constituent record.  For each row of data, mark the Process? checkbox for both the Biographical and Preferred Address tabs to overwrite the values in the constituent record with the values from the sign-up request.   You can also change the values by typing directly in the New Value column for each row of data.
  4. Click Save and Close
  5. If you choose to not process any of the new values from the sign-up request, you may be prompted that "There are remaining updates for this transaction.  Do you wish to reject the remaining updates?"  Click Yes to proceed or No to review the updates again.
  6. Within the Sign-up Requests Transactions window, the Linked Constituent field should now be populated with the linked constituent information.  Click Process Transaction to process the sign-up request.
  7. If you previously unmarked the Process? checkbox to process new values from the sign-up request, you may be prompted that "This transaction has unprocessed Profile Updates.  Would you like to process them?"  Click Yes to review those profile updates again or click No to process the transaction using the profile updates selected in Step 3.  If you click No, the transaction will be processed.  If you click Yes to review the updates, mark the appropriate checkboxes within the Process? column and click Save and Close to process the transaction.
If the constituent record for the individual does not display within the search results found in the first set of steps:
  1. Click Link Constituent - Create New Constituent
  2. The new values that will be added to the new constituent record will display in the NetCommunity Transaction window within the Biographical and Preferred Address tabs.  Mark the checkbox in the Process? column to process the new values for the constituent record.  You can also change the values by typing directly in the New Value column for each row of data.
  3. Click Save and Close.
  4. If you choose not to process one or more updates within step 2, you will be prompted that "There are remaining updates for this transaction.  Do you wish to reject the remaining updates?"  If you click Yes, the transaction will be linked to the constituent record.  If you click No, you will see the Profile Updates again to verify which updates should be processed.
  5. Click Process Transaction
  6. If you choose not to process one or more updates within step 2, you will be prompted that "This transaction has unprocessed Profile Updates.  Would you like to process them?"  If you click No, the transaction will be processed.  If you click Yes, you will see the Profile Updates again to verify which updates should be processed.
These steps will need to be repeated for each sign-up transaction in the list of Sign-Up Requests.
