Complete these steps after your IIS Administrator has created a re-direct website to point to Faculty Access for the Web.  The creation of and configuration of a re-direct website is beyond our scope of support.

For IIS 6: 
  1. Open IIS
  2. Right-click on FAWeb and select Properties 
  3. On the Virtual Directory Tab, click Configuration
  4. Highlight the .bbWebGrid extension and click Edit
  5. Copy the information from the Executable field. Click Cancel to close all FAWeb windows without saving any changes.
  6. Open the properties of the re-direct website
  7. On the Virtual Directory Tab, click Configuration
  8. Click Add and paste the Executable information copied from step 5
  9. Enter .bbWebGrid in the Extension field
  10. Set Verbs to All Verbs and mark the Script engine checkbox
  11. Click OK
  12. Click Add again, and paste the Executable information from step 5
  13. Enter .bbspellcheck in the Extension field
  14. Set Verbs to All Verbs and mark the Script engine checkbox
  15. Click OK, OK to return to the Properties window
  16. Select the Documents Tab
  17. Click Add
  18. Enter default.aspx and click OK
  19. Verify that the General Properties of the re-direct website match the FAWeb website. Click OK
  20. Restart IIS for the settings to take place
     

For IIS 7.0 and 7.5:

  1. Open IIS
  2. Select FAWeb and and in Features View under IIS, highlight/select Handler Mappings
  3. In the Action Window, select Open Feature
  4. Highlight *.bbWebGrid Path and in Action, select Edit
  5. Copy the information from the Executible field and Name field. Click Cancel to close all FAWeb windows without saving any changes.
  6. Select the re-direct website, and in Features View under IIS, select Handler Mappings
  7. Under Actions, select Add Managed Handler
  8. Enter *.bbWebGrid in the Request Path field and paste the Executable and Name information from Step 5
  9. Click OK
  10. Select FAWeb and and in Features View under IIS, highlight/select Handler Mappings
  11. In the Action Window, select Open Feature
  12. Highlight *.bbspellcheck Path and in Action, select Edit
  13. Copy the information from the Executible field and Name field. Click Cancel to close all FAWeb windows without saving any changes.
  14. Select the re-direct website, and in Features View under IIS, select Handler Mappings
  15. Under Actions, select Add Managed Handler again
  16. Enter *.bbspellcheck in the Request Path field and paste the Executable and Name information from Step 13
  17. Click OK
  18. For the re-direct website, in Features View under IIS, select and double-click Default Document
  19. If default.aspx is not present, then under Actions, select Add
  20. Enter default.aspx and click OK
  21. Verify that the General Properties of the re-direct website match the FAWeb website.  Click OK
  22. Restart IIS for the settings to take place


NOTE:  Issues specifically due to or related to re-direct websites and external urls are beyond our scope of support.
