To Copy for Individual Courses

Copy Course Restrictions/Grading Info AND Create a New Course At The Same Time :

Note: This method allows users to create a brand new course using the Restrictions/Grading of an existing course
  1. In Records>Courses, open the course record to copy.
  2. Select Course> Copy Course from the menu bar.
  3. In the New Course School field, select the school for the new course.
  4. In the Information to copy box, unmark the checkbox for each component to omit, such as Restrictions 2, Resources, Billing, or Skills.
  5. In the Academic Years to copy box, unmark the checkbox for each academic year to omit.
  6. Click OK.
  7. On the New Course screen, enter the course ID and course name.

To Copy Restrictions AND Grading Information for an Existing Course Only 

Note: This method allows users to copy existing Grading/Restriction used in previous years for the course. For example, use the information from the 2015-2016 year to create the Grading/Restriction information for the 2016-2017 year.

  1. In Records>Courses, open the appropriate course record
  2. Select the Restrictions 2 tab
  3. In the grid, select the academic year to copy and click Copy on the action bar
  4. Select the academic year and session to be created
    Notes:
    • If restrictions for the selected academic year/session already exists on the course record, the following error appears: Restrictions for this Academic Year and Session already exist
    • If the selected session use a different timetable than the session being copied, the following error appears: Cannot copy restrictions between sessions with different timetables (BB184088)

  1. In Records>Courses, open the appropriate course record
  2. Select the Grading tab
  3. Click Copy on the action bar
  4. Select the academic year and session for which to copy grading information and the academic year and session for which to create grading information
  5. Click OK

To globally copy course information from one academic year to another

Note: This method allows users to globally copy Restrictions/Grading (billing information or SB) and other Informational fields for existing courses. This wizard only copies what exist on the record. If a user is copying information from 2015-2016 to create information for the 2016-2017 year, then the course MUST have that previous year already on its record.

  1. In Records> Courses, click Copy Course Information
  2. On the Copy Course Information screen, select the appropriate school
  3. Select the academic year and session to copy
  4. Select the academic year and session to define by copying information
  5. You can mark the Copy course restrictions and Copy course grading information checkboxes
  6. Use filters to specify courses for which information will be copied
  7. Click Preprocessing to identify exceptions
  8. Click Copy now

Copy Academic Year 

Note: This method allows users to globally copy Restrictions/Grading (billing information or SB) and other Informational fields for existing courses. This wizard only copies what exist on the record. If a user is copying information from 2015-2016 to create information for the 2016-2017 year, then the course MUST have that previous year already on its record.

  1. In Configuration> Academic Years> highlight the academic year you want to copy and select Copy from...
  2. Select the desired school and year that you want to copy to. If the new year has not yet been created, type it directly into the Academic year to copy to field.
  3. Add the start and end dates for the Academic year and terms.
  4. Under Copy this information: mark the checkboxes for the items you desire to copy.
  5. Click Copy Now.

Notes:

  • If you select a different school than what was on the original course's record (the record you are copying from), only Resources, Rules, Billing, and Attributes/Notes information can be copied.
  • If selecting to copy all academic years, only the years set up with Restrictions 2 or Grades information on the original course will be copied. This feature does not copy from one year to a different year.
