1. From Administration, click Security
2. Either edit the group the user is a member of or create a new group to add this user to
3. In the Group Privileges frame, highlight Records and click Options
4. Highlight the record type on the left (for example, Gifts) and unmark the Edit and Delete checkboxes.
5. Save the group
6. If creating a new group, add the user to the new group and remove them from the old group
7. The changes will take affect after the user exits and signs out
