In the following example, the user would like to see constituents with a constituency code of Grandparents.  He would like to see the giving history of those constituents and the giving history of their children, who are relationships on the 'Grandparents' record and have their own constituent records.  They have consistently tracked the Relationship field on the relationship records for both the grandparents and their children.

    • Create a constituent query (Query A) and filter on:

      Constituency, Constituency Code equals Grandparent

AND Relationships, Individual, Relation Code one of Son, Daughter, Stepson, Stepdaughter, etc.
    • Create a constituent query (Query B) and filter on:

Relationships, Constituency, Constituency Code equals Grandparent

AND Relationships, Individual, Relation Code one of Father, Mother, Stepfather, Stepmother, etc.

    • Merge the queries using the OR operator to create Query C, which contains all records from Query A and Query B.
    • Run the Constituent Giving History report using Query C

If you only want to see gifts given with a specific date range, you can filter on gift dates to include within the report parameters (General tab).
