Note : Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup article. How to change the marking column set if no course grading records exist for the academic year/session
  1. On the Configuration - Academic Years page, open the appropriate academic year record.
  2. Open the appropriate session record.
  3. Note that the Marking columns field is not grayed out. 
  4. Select the new marking column set from the list. 
  5. Click OK to close the session record. 
  6. Click Save and Close on the action bar to close the academic year record. 
How to change the marking column set if course grading exists but no grades have been entered for the academic year/session
  1. Delete the course grading for the academic year and session.
  2. On the Configuration - Academic Years page, open the appropriate academic year record. 
  3. Open the appropriate session record.
  4. Note that the Marking columns field is not grayed out. 
  5. Select the new marking column set from the list. 
  6. Click OK to close the session record. 
  7. Click Save and Close on the action bar to close the academic year record. 
     
How to change the marking column set if grades have been entered for the academic year/session
  1. Export all grades, comments and skill ratings so you can import them after changing the marking column set for the academic year/session.
  2. In Grades, globally delete all grades, comments, and skill ratings for students enrolled in classes associated with the school, academic year, and session by deleting the course grading for the academic year and session and clicking Yes when prompted.
  3. Print progress reports or use the Export to Excel option in Faculty Access for the Web to document grading information entered by teachers in their gradebooks.  
  4. In Faculty Access for the Web, delete all assignment grades and comments, and marking column grades, comments, and skill ratings for students enrolled in classes associated with the school, academic year, and session, 
  5. On the Configuration - Academic Years page, open the appropriate academic year record.
  6. Open the appropriate session record.
  7. Note that the Marking columns field is not grayed out.
  8. Select the new marking column set from the list.
  9. Click OK to close the session record.
  10. Click Save and Close on the action bar to close the academic year record. 
    Note: If calculations are assigned to marking columns in FAWEB they will need to be removed.

Note: The existence of scheduling information does not prevent you from changing the marking column set associated with an academic year and session
