• If a former student is now the parent of a current student or Faculty member:
     
    1. In Configuration, click Tables, add entries to the Affiliation and Relationship tables. For example, add Current Parent/Alum or Current Faculty/Alum to the Affiliation table and Self to the Relationship table.
    2. Create an Individual or Faculty/Staff record for the current parent/former student in Records.
    3. Select Current Parent/Alum or Current Faculty/Alum in the Affiliation field on the Bio 1 tab.
    4. To update any address changes on the new Individual or Faculty/Staff record and the alum's student record: copy and link the address from the new record to the alum's student record.
    5. On the Relationships tab, add the alum's student record as a relation with the relationship type and reciprocal relationship of Self.
    6. If the new record is a parent of a current student, add the new Individual or Faulty/Staff record as a relationship to the student's record.
    7. If you integrate The Raiser's Edge with the education software, unlink the alum's student record from The Raiser's Edge record and link the new Individual or Faculty/Staff record.
       
  • If the student or applicant does not have any student/applicant specific information that should be tracked:
     
    1. Document the information to transfer to the new record, such as address and phone number.
    2. Create the new Individual/Faculty/Staff record and add the appropriate information.
    3. Delete the Student or Applicant record.

    or

    1. Export the Student/Applicant information.
    2. Import the information back in as an Individual record or Faculty/Staff record.
    3. Delete the Student or Applicant record.
