Notes:

  • If you are required to automatically use only supervisor-defined marking column calculations, calculations automatically occur for all your classes and you do not have to assign calculations.  For more information, see How to define marking column weights for all teachers in FAWeb.  (BB134588)
  • After you associate a calculation or marking column weight with a class, you cannot add any categories, assignments, or assignment grades in the marking column being calculated.
    • All categories, assignments, and grades entered previously for the calculated marking column no longer appear in the gradebook
    • Any assignment grades previously entered for the calculated marking column are ignored in all calculations.
  • If you assign a calculation after entering grades for a marking column included in the calculation, you must refresh the gradebook (BB124143) in order for the average to calculate. 
 

To assign a calculation to a marking column in FAWeb version 7.83 or higher:  

  1. Ensure marking column weights have been defined (BB221864)
  2. Select Gradebook>Assign marking column weights to classes
    Note: Only marking columns with calculations defined for the selected academic year are available
  3. Select the Marking column, Class, and Calculation
    Note: You can assign only one calculation per marking column and class
  4. Click Save


To assign a calculation to a marking column in FAWeb version 7.82 or lower:  

  1. Ensure marking column weights have been defined
  2. Select Gradebook 
  3. On the Gradebook page, select the Setup tab 
  4. From the list on the left, select Assign Calculations 
  5. In the first column, select a marking column
    Note: Only marking columns with calculations defined for the selected academic year are available
  6. In the Class column, select the class to use the calculation 
  7. In the Calculation column, select the calculation
    Note: You can assign only one calculation per marking column and class
  8. Click Save
