Cumulative Attempted Credits or Cumulative Credits Earned are incorrect on transcripts

Cumulative Attempted Credits or Cumulative Credits Earned are incorrect on transcripts although Course Grading reflects the correct credit value.

Possible causes:

  • The marking columns are not listed in the correct order in the Marking Column table in Configuration
  • The Attempted credits were entered in an additional marking column. The additional marking column is sequenced after last column showing grades in Transcript (final), so credit does not show until it is added to the cumulative total.
  • The incorrect credit value is selected to show in the Academic Summary
  • Credits are not being included from an outside school, which has an academic year start dates later than the main school.

Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:

  1. Check the order of the marking columns in Configuration:
    1. On the Configuration page, select Tables
    2. Select the Marking Column table
    3. In the right frame, use the Up and Down buttons on the action bar to list the marking columns in the order in which they occur (such as, Fall, Spring, Summer or MidTri 1, Tri 1, MidTri2, Tri 2, MidTri 3, Trimester 3, Final)

  2. Remove any extraneous credits:
    1. In Grades, click Enter grades by student, and select the student
    2. Select the school, year, session and term that has the extra credits in total
    3. At the right under Show: select Grades and Credit columns
    4. Remove the extraneous credits
    5. Click Save and close

  3. Edit the credit value selected to show:
    1. On the transcript open the Academic Summary
    2. On the columns tab open the appropriate column
    3. Change the value from the credit drop down to the appropriate credit value

  4. Edit the start date of the other school's academic year to fall on the same date as the main school's year:
    1. In Configuration, Academic Years, select the appropriate School from the drop down menu
    2. Double click on the appropriate academic year
    3. Edit the Start Date of the academic year to the same date as the main school
    4. Click Save and Close

  5. We resolved this issue in version 7.82.104, patch 4. Download and install the latest patch, which contains all fixes from previous patches. If you are running an older version, download and install the latest version and then the patch.
