When copying a page, only the page is copied. The parts on the page are not copied. The parts also need to be copied to avoid making changes to the same part, which lives on multiple pages.

You may need to perform a variation of one or more of Prompts A - C, depending on the part type or version of the product you're on. 

Note: When clicking the gear icon for the part, if you don't see Edit, but instead see Edit Page Template, this indicates the part is on the template instead of the page. For this, you should also make a copy of the template, and change the template of your copied page to be the copied template, before performing the steps below.
  1. Make a copy of the page:
    1. Login to NetCommunity with a user who has edit rights to pages and parts
    2. Navigate to the page you want to copy
    3. Click Edit this page in the top left corner
    4. Press the green Copy page button
    5. Enter the name, browser title, and URL for the page and Click Save
  2. Copy the parts
    1. Click the gear icon of the part you want to copy
    2. Click Edit
      • Prompt A) ​If you see the following prompt, follow the steps immediately below the screenshot:Part is shared across multiple pages or websites. Do you want to update all pages and websites or insert a new copy of the part?
        1.  Mark the radio button for Copy part
        2. Enter the new name
        3. Click OK
      • Prompt B) If you see the following prompt, follow the steps immediately below the screenshot:This part is in use by multiple pages or sites. Edit this part to update all pages and sites, or create a new copy of the part.
        1. Note the banner: this part is in use by multiple pages or sites. Edit this part to update all pages and sites or Create a new copy of the part. 
        2. Click the link for Create a new copy of the part
        3. Enter a New part name
        4. Click OK
      • Prompt C) If you see the following prompt, This prompt indicates the part may not be copied. A new part, with the same part type will need to be created. The original part must be cut from the page, and a new part inserted. Click Cancel or close the current part, then follow the steps immediately below the screenshot: 
 This part is in use by multiple pages or sites. Edit this part to update all pages and sites.
  1. Cut the part
    1. Navigate to the new page that we just created
    2. Click Edit this page in the top left corner
    3. Find the part on the page that needs to be copied
    4. Edit the part by clicking on the edit button (Cog Wheel shaped box). Note the name of the part.
    5. From the drop down options select Cut, this will remove the part from the page
  2. Create a new part:
    1. While on the copy page, click within the content pane you want the new part to live, then click New Part
    2. Select your Part Type, enter a Part name
    3. Click Next
    4. Fill out required fields, and any desired optional fields
    5. When finished, click Save
      • Depending on the part type created, you may have additional required prompts
