Error: The file specified is not a recognized format for electronic reconciliation - when clearing transactions electronically

This error can occur when performing different tasks or due to one of the following reasons:

  • When clearing transactions electronically
  • When importing a QIF, OFX or GFX file
  • The file is missing the Carriage Returns
  • The file structure is incorrect
The file you're using may have the correct file extension, however, the format of the data within the file may be structured incorrectly. Your bank needs to provide an updated file. 

An example of the file is attached above.

Note: The file must contain line breaks in order to successfully import.
