Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup solution.

This message occurs when importing new information and selecting Update Existing Records on the General tab of the Import. If the information in the import data file is new to the existing records (new gifts, new phones or emails, new attributes, new constituent appeals, etc.), select Import New Records:
  1. Ensure that the import data file has the appropriate record identifier.
  2. On the General tab of the import parameter, select Import New Records in the top left
  3. If constituent ID, constituent Import ID, or SSN/SIN is being used to identify existing constituents, select the corresponding field on the General tab
  4. Proceed with setting up the import.
