  1. On the Criteria tab of the query, select Summary Information, Summary for [Record Type].
  2. Select the appropriate filter.
  3. On the Criteria tab of the Edit Field Criteria screen, select the appropriate Operator and Value.
  4. On the Filter tab of the Edit Field Criteria screen, select the appropriate filters to define which records are counted toward the Summary Information total.
  5. Click OK to close the Edit Field Criteria screen.

Note: Summary filters are only present in Constituent, Individual, Organization, Appeal, Campaign, and Fund queries.

For example, to query on constituents who have given $100 or more cumulatively in 2016:

Note: Cumulative means that multiple gifts can add up to the total. In this example, a donor giving one $100 gift or four $25 gifts or two $50 gifts would each meet the query's criteria.

  1. Create a constituent query.
  2. On the Criteria tab, select Summary Information, Summary For Gift, Total Amount of Gifts greater than or equal to 100.
  3. On the Edit Field Criteria screen, select the Filter tab.
  4. Select Gift Information, Gift Date between 1/1/2016 and 12/31/2016.
  5. Click OK twice.

Another example, to query on constituents who have gave at least one gift of $100 or more in 2016:
  1. Create a constituent query.
  2. On the Criteria tab, select Summary Information, Summary For Gift, Total Number of Gifts greater than 0.
  3. On the Edit Field Criteria screen, select the Filter tab.
  4. Select Gift Information, Gift Amount greater than or equal to 100. Click OK.
  5. Still on the Filter tab, select Gift Information, Gift Date between 1/1/2016 and 12/31/2016. Click OK.
  6. Click OK.
