Error: Start and ending time for periods must be in chronological order within a day and cannot overlap

When changing or deleting periods in timetables, you may receive the following error:

"Start and ending time for periods must be in chronological order within a day and cannot overlap"

The pattern creates a copy of itself, but the times do not update. The timetable is already in use by other academic years with scheduling and grading information.
  1. Open Configuration and click Registrar setup.
  2. Select Timetables and open the timetable to modify.
  3. Make changes to the start and end times for the periods.
    Note: Do not try to delete the periods at this time.
  4. Click Save .
  5. Click Yes to the message that appears: This timetable is already in use.  Saving these changes will update any information using this timetable. Do you want to continue?
  6. Mark the academic year and session to update in the Update Setup Process screen.
  7. Click OK to the following message: Changing this timetable will cause the following information to be updated.
  8. Once this is done processing, a new timetable with a name ending in 01 will appear. Make the appropriate changes to the timetable. (including deleting periods or making changes to start and end times).
  9. Save the changes to the timetable.
