If there are no other Blackbaud products on the server:

  1. Re-attach the database using the RE Express instance.
  2. Perform any needed tasks in the Blackbaud Management Console such as creating a backup schedule.
  3. Unregister and re-register SQLDMO.DLL located at C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\80\Tools\binn\

If there are other Blackbaud products installed:

  1. Detach The Financial Edge database.
  2. Re-attach The Financial Edge database using the FE Express instance.

Alternative solution:

Manually uninstall and re-install the SQL Server 2005 Express instance.
