Note: Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup solution.

Note: Only perform these steps if you have verified that the other last name is accurate. Some of the data sources may return a maiden name which is no longer current. Therefore it is recommended that these be updated one at a time, confirming you are not updating with a maiden name.
    • Export the address information:
      1. Create a query of the records to be updated. (On the Criteria tab, select Attributes, Other Last Name, Description)
      2. Create a constituent export in CSV format based on the query created in Step a.
      3. On the Output tab, select:

        Constituent Information, Import ID

        Attributes, Other Last Name, Description
      4. Click Export Now.
    • In Excel, open the CSV file.
    • Change the headers in this CSV file as follows:

      Biographical, ImportID > ImportID

      Attributes, Other Last Name, Description > LastName
    • Save and close the CSV file.
    • Import the CSV file using a constituent import.
    • On the General tab, select Update existing records.
    • Select all other appropriate options and complete the import process.
