- In Configuration, click Business Rules.
- Highlight Email Options.
- Under 'When an email is sent to a constituent', remove 'Email' from 'Set the action type to' if it is blank'.
- In Configuration, click Tables.
- Highlight Actions (this may be called Action Types in an older version of The Raiser's Edge)
- Double-click Email (or the action type listed in error message).
- Unmark the checkbox for Inactive.
- Click OK
