• In Configuration, click Business Rules.
       
    • Highlight Email Options.
       
    • Under 'When an email is sent to a constituent',  remove 'Email' from 'Set the action type to' if it is blank'.
       


    OR




      • In Configuration, click Tables.
         
      • Highlight Actions (this may be called Action Types in an older version of The Raiser's Edge)
         
      • Double-click Email (or the action type listed in error message).
         
      • Unmark the checkbox for Inactive.
         
      • Click OK
