1. Enable TCP/IP.
     
  2. Ensure the TCP\IP port is open
    1. On the workstation receiving the error go to Start > Run
    2. Type in ODBCAD32
    3. Click Run
    4. Go to the System DSN Tab
    5. Highlight RE7_1 and click Configure
    6. Click next and then Client Configuration
    7. Click TCP\IP and note the Port number on the right
    8. Create an exception for this port in the Windows Firewall on the Blackbaud Management Console server
 
If on a 64 bit workstation: On the workstation receiving the error go to
  1. Go to C:\\Windows\SysWOW64
  2. Open the odbcad32.exe file
  3. Go to the System DSN Tab
  4. Highlight RE7_1 and click Configure
  5. Click next and then Client Configuration
  6. Click TCP\IP and note the Port number on the right
  7. Create an exception for this port in the Windows Firewall on the Blackbaud Management Console server
