This is resolved in Raiser's Edge 7.96 patch 3, applied to databases in Blackbaud Hosting Services in March 2017 and planned for download availability in April 2017. For further updates on releases as they become available, please see our Community Release page.
If you are impacted by this issue on an older version of Raiser's Edge attempt the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:
- If the media object (PDF file) is open on the workstation, close it.
- If the media object was embedded, link the file to the Media tab instead.
- Confirm the version of Adobe Reader installed on the workstation is the same version that the PDF file was created with. This can cause issues if the document was created in 9, 9.4, 9.5 and then embedded using X and above.
- Update/Repair the workstation.
- Uninstall and reinstall the workstation.
