To sort the records by something other than the System Record ID:
  • Export based on a query that is sorted appropriately:
    1. Create and sort a query containing the records to export
    2. In Export, create a new export for the appropriate record type
    3. On the Filters tab, Include the query created in step 1
    4. Configure the rest of the export and click Export Now

      The export will export in query order.


    5. Change the sort order of the file after it is exported:
      1. Open the exported file in Excel
      2. Highlight all columns in the spreadsheet
      3. Select Data, Sort... from the menu bar
      4. Select up to three columns to sort by
      5. Click OK
