NOTE: If Blackbaud hosts your CRM database: Contact Support and reference this article. 
Once this has been configured in your hosting environment, proceed with section III below.


I: Install the Blackbaud Address Validation Service

*Note* - this can be done on the BBEC web server or a standalone server

1. Install Address Accelerator/PostalSaver from the Downloads page on the Blackbaud website
2. Extract to a temporary location
3. Run "Setup.exe". This will formally install the Satori Data files
    *Default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\Postal Tools
4. Run “Update.exe” from the Postal Tools folder above. This will install the Satori Mailroom Toolkit
    *Default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Satori Software\Satori Architect
5. From the Address Accelerator Server, open Internet Explorer as Administrator
6. Navigate to the BBEC start page and select Utilities
7. Click on “Address Validation Service Deployment”
8. Select Install Validation Service radio button and click Next
9. Select a location to install the service and click Next
     *Default location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Blackbaud\Address Validation
10. Satori Data File Location: browse to the location from Step 3 and click Next
11. Leave the default path for the “Satori Working Directory” or create a common folder location and click Next
12. Select an HTTP [8000] and TCP [8001] port and click Next
13. Click Finish
14. Confirm HTTP & TCP port are open allowed through the firewall to this server.

 


II. Configure the Web Server Setup 

1. From the BBEC Web Server, open Internet Explorer as Administrator
2. Navigate to the BBEC start page and select Utilities
3. Click on “Address Validation Service Deployment”
4. Select the "Set Up Web Server" radio button and click Next
5. Browse to the web.config file for BBEC and click Next
6. Enter the hostname of the Address Accelerator server [Service Machine] and the TCP port [8001]; click Next
7. Click Finish
8. You will receive a notification that you need to restart your web server. Click OK to acknowledge the message
9. Rather than rebooting, simply recycle the Application Pool running BBEC
 


 

III. Configure the country for Address Validation in BBEC

1. Log into BBEC from any computer
2. Select Administration > Countries and States
3. Expand the appropriate country and click Edit
4. Check the box Select “Allow address validation"
5. Change the drop-down for "Validate as:" to the appropriate country
6. Click Save
