When mapping a network drive, log into Windows as the user who needs to see the mapping. The drive mapping is stored within each user's profile.

 

For Windows Vista, 7, or Server 2008:
 
  1. Click on Start, then click on Computer
  2. Click Map Network Drive
  3. Select an available drive letter
  4. Type or browse to the folder to access
  5. Check Reconnect at Login
  6. Click Finished

For Windows 2000 and Windows XP Professional:
 
  1. Open Windows Explorer
  2. Select Tools, Map Network Drive from the menu bar
  3. Select an available drive letter from the Drive drop-down list
  4. Click Browse to locate a shared directory on the network, or enter the UNC path in the Folder field
  5. Mark the Reconnect At Logon checkbox
  6. Click Finish

For Windows NT:

  1. Open Windows Explorer
  2. Select Tools, Map Network Drive from the menu bar
  3. Select an available drive letter from the Drive drop-down list
  4. Enter the UNC path in the Path box, or select one from the Shared Directories window
  5. Mark the Reconnect At Logon checkbox
  6. Click OK
