Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:
  1. Reboot the server (for updating the Deploy Kit) or workstation (for updating a workstation)
  2. Set the appropriate NTFS permissions for the user or give the user local administrator rights

    Note: You can also run Process Monitor to determine which directories/files need permission changes

  3. Run the REREGISTER.EXE utility
  4. Manually update the workstation by running Setup.exe from the Deploy package on the server
  5. Uninstall and reinstall the Raiser's Edge 7 on the workstation
  6. If the issue is occurring on multiple workstations, then reboot the server where the Blackbaud Management Console is located
