How to clear the event log

Windows Event Logs can grow in size and at times may become very large.  This solution discusses how you can clear your Windows Event Log(s).
Before clearing the event logs, it is recommended that you save the current logs to a file.

How to clear the event viewer log:
  1. Open Event Viewer and select the Windows log you wish to clear
  2. Right-click on the log and select Clear Log
  3. Select Save and Clear
  4. Browse to a folder where you want to save the log file to and click Save
