To find the header you need you can:

  • Search Knowledgebase for the specific import such as How to import new constituents.

OR

  • Review your product's Import Guide from our User Guides web page. Select the product, press Ctrl+F
  • In the Find What field, select Import
  • Select Find Next.

To add headers to a data file:

  1. Open the file in Microsoft Excel 
  2. Highlight row 1 
  3. Click Insert Rows 
  4. Enter the appropriate headers in row 1
  5. Save in CSV format

To edit headers in a data file:

  1. Open the file in Microsoft Excel 
  2. To edit row 1, place the cursor in the cell with the header
  3. Overwrite the existing header with the new header 
  4. Save in CSV format

Note: If this file is being used for a mail merge and you already have an existing mail merge document, you will need to re-insert the merge fields after changing the headers.
