Note : Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup article.

 In Version 7.94 and higher:

To change phone types on constituent records:

  1. Create a Constituent query (BB19082) to find all records with the phone type to be changed.
  2. In Administration, click Globally Change Records.
  3. Select Constituent from the Constituent category.
  4. Click New Change.
  5. Click the include button and click Selected Records to search for and select the query created in Step 1.
  6. In the Show field, select Biographical.
  7. Choose Phone type from the available fields.
  8. Select Replace in the Operation field.
  9. Select the existing phone type in the Replace field.
  10. Select the new phone type in the With field.
(In this example, the Global Change would replace all of the records with Email1 with the type of Email)
 In this example, the Global Change would replace all of the records with Email1 with the type of Email.
  1. Click OK.
  2. Click Change Now.
To change phone types on individual relationship records:
  1. Create a Relationship query (BB19082) of the records with phone types to change.
  2. In Administration, click Globally Change Records.
  3. From Constituent, select Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship
  4. Click New Change.
  5. Click the include button and click Selected Records to search for and select the query created in Step 1.
  6. On the Global Change - Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship screen, click Include Selected Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship to search for and select the query created in step 1.
  7. In the Show field, select Individual/Contact/Employee Relationships
  8. Choose Phone type from the available fields.
  9. Select Replace in the Operation field.
  10. Select the existing phone type in the Replace field.
  11. Select the new phone type in the With field.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Change Now

In Version 7.93 and earlier versions:

To change phone types on constituent records:
  1. Create a Constituent query (BB19082) to find all records with the phone type to be changed.
  2. In Administration, click Globally Change Records.
  3. Select Constituent from the Constituent category.
  4. Click New Change.
  5. Click the include button and click Selected Records to search for and select the query created in Step 1.
  6. In the Show field, select All Addresses or Preferred Addresses.  (For example, if you want to keep old Home numbers associated with old Addresses, you would select Preferred Addresses.  If you select All Addresses and you globally change Home, it will do this for all addresses of the selected records.) 
  7. Choose Phone type from the available fields.
  8. Select Replace in the Operation field.
  9. Select the existing phone type in the Replace field.
  10. Select the new phone type in the With field.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Change Now.  

To change phone types on individual relationship records:

  1. Create a Relationship query (BB19082) of the records with phone types to change.
  2. In Administration, click Globally Change Records.
  3. From Constituent, select Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship
  4. Click New Change.
  5. Click the include button and click Selected Records to search for and select the query created in Step 1.
  6. On the Global Change - Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship screen, click Include, Selected Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship to search for and select the query created in step 1.
  7. In the Show field, select Individual/Contact/Employee Relationship Addresses
  8. Choose Phone type from the available fields.

  9. Select Replace in the Operation field.
  10. Select the existing phone type in the Replace field.
  11. Select the new phone type in the With field.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Click Change Now.
