The linked user email is useful for situations where an existing user attempts to sign up and create a different login through NetCommunity. In these situations, a "Send Linked User Email" button will appear on the Sign-up Requests Transactions screen when the website user is auto-matched to a record in The Raiser’s Edge that is linked to a Blackbaud NetCommunity user.

To setup the Linked User Email:
  1. Log in to NetCommunity
  2. Navigate to Email > Templates
  3. Click on New Template
  4. Fill out the required fields under the form Properties tab
    • Important: Choose Registered Users as the Data Source
  5. Save
  6. Design the content of the email message and insert merge fields to remind the user of the Username/Password for his or her account
  7. Insert required links to your website's Privacy Policy and User Email Preferences pages. See How to create a link to another page by inserting a hyperlink.
  8. Save
In The Raiser's Edge:
  1. Open the Blackbaud NetCommunity plugin
  2. Click on Options
  3. Click on Linked User Email
  4. Select your Email Template from the drop-down box
  5. Click OK to save your options and return to the Blackbaud NetCommunity plugin
Note: The option to send a Linked User Email will appear when viewing a Sign Up Request when the user is auto-matched to a record in The Raiser’s Edge that is already linked to a Blackbaud NetCommunity user.
