To enter a new primary address so that the primary addresses remain linked between the education software and The Raiser's Edge and the old address is retained as an alternate for historical purposes manually create alternate addresses for the address that is being changed.

 

To enter the new address information from the education software:

 
     
    • In Records, click the appropriate record type and open the corresponding record.
     
    • Select the Addresses tab and click New Address.
     
    • Enter the old address in the New Address screen and click OK.
     
    • On the Address tab, highlight the existing Primary address and click open.
     
    • Update the existing primary address with the new address info.
     
    • Click Ok.
     
    • Save and Close.
       

    Synchronization will update the primary address in Raiser's Edge with the new address info and add the old address info as an alternate in Raiser's Edge.

    To enter the new address information from The Raiser's Edge:

     
       
      • In records, click Open a constituent.
       
      • Search and open the corresponding record.
       
      • Select the Addresses tab and open the preferred address.
       
      • Select Address, Copy Preferred Address to Alternate.
       
      • Update the existing primary address with the new address info.
       
      • Click Ok.
       
      • Save and Close.
         

      Synchronization will update the primary address in the education software with the new address info and add the old address info as an alternate address.
