When a user registers, it creates a registration for the NetCommunity website and generates a sign-up request. The constituent can only have one login linked to their record in the Raisers Edge.

Add a helplet on login page that users use their login credentials from a prior fundraiser to register again. If the user does not remember their login credentials, they can submit a request for the userid and/or login.

There are several different scenarios depending on what on the situation.  Follow the appropriate steps below:

If you would like to keep the new sign up request:
  1. Break the link in the NetCommunity user to The Raiser's Edge and generate a new sign up transaction (BB299162).
  2. Open the NetCommunity plug-in and select Sign-up Requests. The newly unlinked signup request will state 'Constituent was manually unlinked in NetCommunity.
  3. Link the new sign-up request to the correct constituent record and process the transaction.
  4. You may delete the old sign-up request and NetCommunity user record, but all information associated with this account will be lost.
Note: All information that was not pushed into The Raiser's Edge will not be linked to this new user.
If you would like to use the old sign up request:
  1. Send the user the Linked User Email (BB439328). The message will contain the forgotten user id and password to the user account already linked to the primary constituent.
  2. Delete the sign up request from The Raiser's Edge.

Fundraisers If you have a user that signed up for a fundraiser with an event and no guests:
  1. Send the user the Linked User Email (BB439328). The message will contain the forgotten user id and password to the user account already linked to the primary constituent.
  2. Create a new constituent record and process the signup request completely through the plug-in to create the participant record and the event registration fee gift.
  3. Before committing the batch, open the batch and link the event registration fee to the existing constituent by searching for the existing constituent in the constituent name field.
  4. Commit the batch and open the existing constituent. Add the constituent code for the new fundraiser so that the user will be on the email list and have the correct role if you use onstituent codes in your query for adding users to email lists and constituent codes for query based roles in Administration.
  5. Remove the the new solicitor from the fund.
  6. Manually add the existing constituent to the fund so they will be included in the new fundraiser. You may need to uncheck the option, 'Constituent is a solicitor' in the search options screen.
  7. Delete the new constituent record.
  8. Delete (BB310772) the new user in NetCommunity, Administration, Users and edit the existing user to add  the member role. Make note of the new user email.  If it is not the same as the old account, you may want to change it on the account.
  9. Synchronize the fundraiser.
If you have a fundraiser with an event and the user registered guests for the event or if an existing member signs with a new user name/password and also registers someone else as a guest:
  1. Send the user the Linked User Email (BB439328). The message will contain the forgotten user id and password to the user account already linked to the primary constituent.
  2. Create a new constituent record and process the signup request completely through the plug-in to create the participant record and the event registration fee gift.
  3. Commit the gift to the new user name/password.
  4. After committing the gift, merge the new constituent into the existing constituent record.
  5. Delete (BB310772) the new user in NetCommunity, Administration, Users and edit the existing user to add the member role. Make note of the new user email.  If it is not the same as the old account, you may want to change it on the account.
If you have a fundraiser without an event and would like to keep the existing sign up request:
  1. Delete the new user sign up request. Make note of the email address in the new sign up request in case the user has a new address.
  2. Send the user the Linked User Email (BB439328). The message will send the forgotten userid and password to the user already linked to the primary constituent.
  3. Manually add the user as a solicitor to the fund and synchronize the fundraiser.
Note: This process will create the personal fundraiser page for the user in Blackbaud NetCommunity.
