Error: General ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. Native error:18452

When running the Supervisor password reset utility, you receive the following error:
"General ODBC Error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. Native error:18452"

The name of the server is longer than 15 characters.
This issue will not be addressed in version 7, but we may resolve it in a future software version.

Alternative solution:
  1. Detach all databases in the Blackbaud Management Console
  2. Rename the server to a name 15 characters or less
  3. Re-attach all databases
  4. Change the InstallSource registry key on each workstation:
The Raisers Edge: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blackbaud\Raisers Edge\7.0\InstallSource. The current should read \\Servername\Deploy. Change this value to \\newservername\Deploy.
    The Financial Edge: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Blackbaud\Financial Edge\7.0\InstallSource and AFN64InstallSource.
  5. Delete the bbupdate.ini file located in The Raisers Edge directory and The Financial Edge directory
