If using a Blackbaud Simple Word Merge export:
  1. Open the Export and click Edit word merge file.
  2. Insert merge fields using the Insert EE Merge Field menu.
  3. Click Save and return to EE7 to merge to save the letter.
  4. Click Merge Now to merge the letters.

If using a Blackbaud Conditional Word Merge export:
  1. Open the Export and click Conditional merge wizard.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Double-click one of the conditions listed to open it.
  4. Click Edit merge document.
  5. Insert merge fields using the Insert EE Merge Field menu.
  6. Click Save and return to EE7 to merge to save the letter.
  7. Repeat steps 3-6 for each of the conditions listed in the wizard, and click Finish.
  8. Click Merge Now to merge letters.

If merging letters from a record:

  1. In Configuration, click Letters.
  2. Highlight the letter type, such as Student.
  3. Open the appropriate letter and click Edit Export.
  4. In the export, click Edit word merge file.
  5. Add merge fields to the document from Insert EE7 Merge field.
  6. Click Save and Return to EE7 to Merge.
  7. Save and Close the export and then click OK again.
  8. In Records, open the student record and merge the letter.
Note: For any of the scenarios above, if one or more merge fields already exist in the merge letter, re-map the fields by deleting the merge field(s) and adding it from the Insert EE7 Merge field menu.
