Note: The following instructions work with fields from any of the Address categories: Preferred Address, Specific Address Type, All Addresses, and Address Processing.

Please visit How to query on a radius using ZIP (Postal) code or a city and state (province) for additional assistance.

To query on constituents in a single ZIP code:

Use the begins with operator. For example, on the Criteria tab, select:

Addresses>Preferred Address>Preferred ZIP begins with 29407.

OR

Use the like operator with the asterisk (*) wildcard. For example, on the Criteria tab, select:

Addresses>Preferred Address>Preferred ZIP like 29407*.

OR

Use the question mark (?) wild card. For example, on the Criteria tab, select:

Addresses>Preferred Address>Preferred ZIP 29407-???? or ?????-????

To query on constituents in a range of ZIP codes:

Use the between operator. For example, on the Criteria tab, select:

Addresses>Preferred Address>Preferred ZIP between 29407 and 29414-9999.

To query on specific zip codes:

  1. Create a constituent query
  2. On the Criteria tab, select:
Addresses>Preferred Address>Preferred ZIP one of [all zip codes needed]

Note: This query matches on exact zip codes. It will not find zip codes + 4 if they are not included in the list of Values for the one of field. If you need to query on specific zip codes but not the +4 portion of the zip code, the "One of" operator will not work with wildcards.

Alternate Solution:

Add each Preferred zip to the criteria of the query with the wildcards for the +4. Separate each criteria with OR and place parenthesis at the beginning and the end of the zip code Criteria. For example:

(Preferred zip = 12345*
OR Preferred zip = 56789*
OR Preferred zip = 65521*)
