Try each of the following steps in order until the issue is resolved:

  • Convert the text to numbers for a selected area:
    1. Open the exported report file in Microsoft Excel.
    2. Place a 1 (one) in a blank cell.
    3. Select the cell with the one in it, right-click and select copy.
    4. Select the cells, rows, or columns in which to use the formula.
    5. Right-click and select paste special.
    6. Mark the operation Multiply, click OK.
       
  • Export the report in Comma-Separated Value (CSV) format:
    Note: When exporting the report in CSV format, the formatting is lost. To retain the formatting and be able to create formulas in Excel:
    1. Export the report in Excel (XLS) format.
    2. Open the exported report file in Excel.
    3. Save the file in Comma-Separated Values (CSV) format.
    4. Close the file in Excel.
    5. Open the CSV file created in step 3 in Excel.
    6. Add any necessary formulas or make any changes.
       
  • Export the report in Data Interchange Format (DIF):
    Note: Only numbers are exported in this format
     
  • Convert the text to numbers one column at a time:
    1. Open the exported report file in Microsoft Excel.
    2. Highlight the column in which to use the formula.
    3. Select Data, Text to Columns from the menu bar.
    4. In the Formatting Wizard, click Next twice.
    5. In Column data format, click Advanced (in Excel 97 or prior, click General, Advanced).
    6. If given the option, set the appropriate Numeric format.
    7. Click Finish.

      OR

    1. Open the exported report file in Microsoft Excel.
    2. Highlight the cells in which to use the formula.
    3. Click on the ! icon next to the cells.
    4. From the menu select convert to number.
