1. On the menu bar, select Tools, Options.
  2. Select the Records tab and highlight Invoice Activity.
  3. Select Today or Blank from the Default reversal post date drop-down menu.
  4. Highlight Credit Memo Activity.
  5. Select Today or Blank from the Default reversal post date drop-down menu.
  6. Click Apply and OK.
  7. In Records, Credit Memos, open the credit memo.
    Note: Do not open the credit memo from the Invoice or Vendor record.
  8. Click Unapply
    Note: If the Unapply button is still grayed out, you may have to Exit and Sign Out and then Sign In again to see the change. 
  9. Click Application History
  10. Change the reversal (Unapplied) post date to an open fiscal period.
  11. Click OK.
  12. Save and Close the credit memo.
    Note: At this point the invoice can be deleted if necessary. The system will prompt you for a reversal post date.
OR
  1. If the fiscal period is soft closed, open the closed fiscal period
    Note: A Journal Entry can be made afterwards if necessary, but this will not flow back to Accounts Payable
