1. In Sphere, click the Control menu
  2. Highlight Admin, Organization Setup
  3. Click View/Edit Org Info
  4. Click Edit. The Organization Setup: Edit Organization Info page opens.
  5. In the Edit Credit Card Address Verification Defaults section, choose one of the following options:
    • Don’t require address or zip/postal code verification if you want to turn off credit card fraud protection. This provides no level of fraud protection.
Note: As of May 2009, Credit Card Verification (CVV) is a required field and cannot be turned off.  CVV is automatically set to Yes for all Sphere accounts and all forms, except Single Step Donation forms.
    • Require address or zip/postal code verification if you want to enable credit card fraud protection.
    • Require both address and zip/postal code verification if you want to require verification of the supporter’s address and Zip code information against the supporter’s information on record at the merchant bank. This provides the most strict fraud protection level.

  6. Select the Lock credit card verification settings check box if you want the settings you specify for Edit Credit Card Address Verification Defaults to be applied to all new (and existing) forms created in the account.
  7. For Soft Descriptor, enter the label that will appear on the supporter’s credit card statement. By default, the descriptor is the account name specified when we created the account.
  8. Click Save.
Note: These settings can be edited in a Thon or in a form as well.
