As a note, copying one division to another division will delete the security settings of the division to which you are copying. For example, if you copy division 50 to division 22, the security settings for Division 22 must be re-entered. If copying to a new division, that division will not have security settings.  After creating the test division, give users security access to the division.

All of the following procedures must be performed at the server. It is possible to create a test division using the Copy or the Restore Function.

Refreshing a Test Division:

  1. Sign into Division 00 - System Administration and select Division Maintenance.
  2. Highlight the division to be restored.
  3. Click Restore.
  4. A dialog appears listing the database backups available for restore.
  5. Highlight the backup to be restored.
  6. Check the Restore As check box.
  7. The Division, Name, and Description text boxes are enabled, as well as the Lines Printed and Blank Pages check boxes.
  8. Type the number, name, and description (optional) of the existing division.
  9. Check the Lines Printed or Blank Page check boxes to enable these options.
  10. Click OK.
  11. A confirmation message will display stating, Existing data for Division ## will be overwritten with data from Division ##. Do you wish to continue?
  12. Click Yes.
  13. A confirmation message will display stating, Division ## has been restored.
  14. Click OK.
  15. The Restore dialog box closes and the division is refreshed.
    Note:  No one can be in any of the divisions involved when performing any Division Maintenance steps.

To create a test division using the Copy function:

  1. Sign into Division 00 - System Administration and select Division Maintenance.
  2. Highlight the division you want to copy.
  3. Click Copy.
  4. The Division and Name text boxes are cleared of information.
  5. The Description text box is populated with Copy of Division and the division number.
  6. Type the number, name, and description (optional) of the new division.
  7. Click Apply to copy this division and continue working in the Division Maintenance dialog box, or click OK to copy this division and close the Division Maintenance dialog box.
  8. When the task is complete, a confirmation message displays stating Division ## has been successfully copied to division ## (Where  ##  = division number).
  9. Click OK.
