Note : Before you proceed with the following instructions, back up the database. If your organization integrates multiple Blackbaud products, refer to the Additional Requirements section of the backup article.

If you have the prospect tab on your Raiser's Edge records you will import these scores as Prospect Ratings, otherwise you will Import as an Constituent Attribute

Import as Constituent Attribute:

  1. Save the import file provided by Target Analytics to the local workstation.
    • Sample file layout:

  2. Unzip the file following these steps:
    • Double-click the ZIP file to open WinZip
    • Click Extract
    • Select the destination folder for the extracted files
    • Click Extract. If the file is password protected, enter the password and click OK.
    • All files are extracted to the selected directory including the .txt import files.
  3. In Raiser's Edge, go to Configuration, Attributes
  4. Add the following New Constituent Attributes and select the suggested data type for each (How to add an attribute):
    • Target Analytics Income (Data type: Currency)
    • Target Analytics Discretionary Spending (Data type: Currency)
    • Target Analytics Net Worth (Data type: Currency)
    • Target Analytics Investments (Data type: Currency)
    • Target Analytics Wealth Segment (Data type: Table with a table name of TA Wealth Segmentation (The last option in the table drop down will create a new table))
    Note: clients with the Enterprise version of Target Analytics Affluence will receive a flat file that contains the individual sub-breakouts for dining out, entertainment, apparel, education, philanthropy, domestic travel and international  travel.
       5. Go to Admin, Import, double click Constituent Attribute 
       6. Choose the Following Options on the General tab of the Import:
  • Import New Records, Create New Table Entries, Validate Data Only
  • Browse to the import file extracted in step 2.
  • Use Import ID to identify existing constituents.
  • Format of the file is delimited.
  1. Choose the following options from the File Layout tab of the Import:
    • Tab Delimited, Quotation as the text qualifier.
    • Field names are on the first line of the file.
  2. Be sure that all of the fields match up correctly on the Fields tab.
    • There should be a corresponding Raiser's Edge field for each field to import.
  3. On the Summary Tab choose to create an exception file, query, and\or control report if appropriate.  No selections here are required for import but they may helpful after the import.
  4. Select Validate Data Now, if there are no exceptions, uncheck the validate data only box from the general tab and then select the Import Now option on the summery tab.

 

Import as Prospect Rating (The Prospect Module has been purchased):

  1. Save the import file provided by Target Analytics to the local workstation.

    • Import New Records, Create New Table Entries, Validate Data Only
    • Browse to the import file extracted in step 2.
    • Use Import ID to identify existing constituents.
    • Format of the file is delimited.
  5. Choose the following options from the File Layout tab of the Import:
    • Comma Separated, Quotation as the text qualifier.
    • Field names are on the first line of the file.
  6. Be sure that all of the fields match up correctly on the Fields tab.
    • There should be a corresponding Raiser's Edge field for each field to import.
  7. On the Summary Tab choose to create an exception file, query, and\or control report if appropriate.  No selections here are required for import but they may helpful after the import.
  8. Select Validate Data Now, if there are no exceptions, uncheck the validate data only box from the general tab and then select the Import Now option on the summery tab.
