1. Verify Windows account has Local Administrator rights
  2. SQL is not running:
    1. Right click My Computer and select Manage
    2. Expand Services and Applications
    3. Click on Services and on the right scroll down to SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)
    4. Verify the service is started, startup type is set to automatic and Log On As Local System
    5. Right click on the service and select Start or Properties to make any changes
    6. If unable to start the service, reboot the server
  3. The SQL SA password has been changed:
    • For FundWare 7.4 and below the SA account must be set to the password: propw
    1. Open \FundWare\7.XX\Bin and run EncryptionUtility.exe
    2. Enter SA as the Sql Server User Id
    3. Enter the new SA Sql Server Password
    4. Click Set Registry Encryptions
  4. The server name has been changed:
    • Verify Server name by:
    1. Right-click My Computer on the Server's Desktop
    2. Select Properties
    3. Select Computer Name tab
    4. Click Change button
    5. Note what the name of the server is and press cancel to exit safely
       
    • Verify / Change FundWare settings to match Server settings:
    1. Select Start, Run
    2. At Open, type RegEdit
    3. Select HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE, Software, FundWare, 7.XX
    4. Double-click the CoreServer key and change the value to Server name
    5. Double-click the ISAMServer key and change the value to Server name
    6. Double-click the Server key and change the value to Server name
  5. Reboot the server
  6. If the issue is still not resolved, then the FWC.ENC file must be fixed

    Attach your FWC.ENC file from the FundWare\Data folder when creating your case and provide us with the following information:
    • The name of your FundWare server
    • The SA password for the SQL Server
    • All divisions in FundWare

NOTE:  The SA password must have only alphanumeric characters and cannot contain any special characters.
