Error: The Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727 (64-bit) installation has failed. Some features may not work properly. You may need to install it manually being installing the Raiser's Edge

When installing the pre-requisites for The Raiser's Edge on Windows 7, Windows 10, Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2, you may receive one of the following errors:
  • Error:  The Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0.50727 (64-bit) installation has failed. Some features may not work properly. You may need to install it manually before installing the Raiser's Edge.  Do you want to continue with the installation?
  • Error: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Setup. This product is already installed as part of the operating system.

If you receive either of the above error messages, then you can proceed with the installation of The Raiser's Edge because Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or 2.0.50727 (64-bit) is already a component of these operating systems but but may need to be enabled.
