1. Highlight Contacts, Database Management, Attribute Setup,
  2. Click Relationship Types
  3. In the Relationship Types page, click New
  4. Enter the Relationship name and description
  5. In the Contact Record Type field, make your selection as follows:
    - Select Individual if you want relationship to be applicable to individual records.
    - Select Organization if you want relationship to be application to organizational records.
    - Select Either if the relationship can be applied to either individual or organization records.
  6. In the Reciprocal Relationship section, enter a name and description of the relationship type.
  7. In the Contact Record Type for this section, make your selection as follows:
    - Select Individual if you want reciprocal relationship to be applicable to individual records.
    - Select Organization if you want reciprocal relationship to be applicable to organizational records.
    - Select Either if the reciprocal relationship can be applied to either individual or organizational records.
  8. In the Default Expiration section, select a time frame when the relationship will no longer be active.
  9. For Relationship Category, make your selection as follows:
    - Select Personal/Personal to specify that the relationship is personal (for example friend, spouse, and so on).
    - Select Education/Student-Alumni to specify that the relationships is educational based.
    - Select Employment/Employee-Owner to specify that the relationship is employment related.
    - Select Affiliations/Affiliates to specify that the relationship is with an affiliate.
    - Select Fundraising/Fundraising to specify that the relationship is fundraising related.
    - Select Other/Other to specify that the relationship does not fit in any of the above categories.
  10. Click Save.
  11. Configure relationship type fields.
