1. Create a new Constituent query
2. Criteria:

Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts greater than or equal to X
FILTERED on Gift Date between [date range 1]
                           AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]
OR Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts greater than or equal to X
FILTERED on Gift Date between [date range 2]
                          AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]
OR Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts greater than or equal to X
FILTERED on Gift Date between [date range 3]
                          AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]
OR Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts greater than or equal to X
FILTERED on Gift Date between [date range 4]
                          AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]
OR Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts greater than or equal to X
FILTERED on Gift Date between [date range 5]
                          AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]

3. Highlight the first line of criteria, and click the open parentheses button
4. Highlight the last line of criteria, and click the closed parentheses button
5. Add another criteria: 

AND Summary Information > Summary for Gift > Total Amount of gifts equals 0
FILTERED on Gift Date between [this year date range]
                          AND Gift Type one of [all desired types]
 



OR 

  1. Create a query of constituents who have not given this year:
    1. Create a constituent query.
    2. On the Criteria tab, select Gift Date does not equal this calendar year.
  2. Export total gift amounts for each of the past years:
    1. Create a constituent export in Excel format.
    2. On the Output tab, select:

      Summary Information, Gifts, Total Gift Amount - On the General tab, select the date range and start amount for the first year.

      Summary Information, Gifts, Total Gift Amount - On the General tab, select the date range and start amount for the second year.

      Summary Information, Gifts, Total Gift Amount - On the General tab, select the date range and start amount for the third year.

      Summary Information, Gifts, Total Gift Amount - On the General tab, select the date range and start amount for the fourth year.

      Summary Information, Gifts, Total Gift Amount - On the General tab, select the date range and start amount for the fifth year.
       

    3. Click Export Now.
       
  3. Open the export file in Excel.
  4. Insert a formula into the last column to count the cells in each row that contains data. An example of the formula for the first row is
    1. =COUNTIF(A1:A7,">0")
  5. Sort the spreadsheet by the last column, with the greatest number at the top.
     
  6. Manually remove any rows that have a count less 1.
