To resolve the problem for the particular Batch:

  • Re-enter a full (16-digit) credit card number into the Credit Card Number field in the affected Batch rows
  • Make sure the affected credit cards have non-expired Expiration Dates

The problem may reoccur if the full card information is not re-entered on the actual source of the card information (original Recurring Gift, Pledge, or Constituent record).  To resolve this:

  • Re-enter a full (16-digit) credit card number onto the original source of the credit card information (original Recurring Gift, Pledge, or Constituent record of affected payment)
  • Make sure the affected credit cards have non-expired Expiration Dates

*Note: This error occurs when a credit card number has been purged from Blackbaud Payment Service (BBPS).
Six months after the expiration date, the number is then purged and needs to be reentered, per industry regulation.
