Once a data item has been added, it cannot be deleted.

The Calc Cycle for Historic Data Items should be changed to N- No calculation is used. 
The description can also be updated to Do Not Use.

  1. In Payroll, select Set Up, and the appropriate data item (Historic Data Item or Employee Data Item)
  2. Select C for Change and open the data item.
  3. Make any edits to mark the item not in use.
