To install F9 for The Financial Edge on a workstation: 

  1. Log into the workstation as administrator or a user with administrator rights.
  2. Download the latest version.
  3. Install F9 for The Financial Edge by double-clicking the f9.exe file to start the installation wizard, and then follow the prompts.
  4. If you are installing F9 for The Financial Edge for the first time, log into The Financial Edge.
  5. Download the F9 for The Financial Edge Configuration Utility to the workstation.
  6. Run the F9 Database Configuration utility by double-click the f9config.exe and then follow the prompts.
    Notes:
    • If you use full SQL Server and Windows Authentication, user need access to The Financial Edge database in SQL Server.  Please contact the appropriate software vendor or IT professional for assistance with this process or issue, which is beyond Blackbaud's scope of support.
    • If you use SQL Server and Mixed Mode, depending upon your settings, you may be prompted to enter the “sa” login credentials.  Please contact the appropriate software vendor or IT professional for assistance with this process or issue, which is beyond Blackbaud's scope of support.
    • If you detach and reattach your database or restore to the backup, you may need to run the utility again.
  7. In Excel, add the F9 for The Financial Edge add-in. Refer to the Installation and Setup section of the F9 for The Financial Edge Guide for step-by-step instructions.
